Running
Saturday was a rest day. I had my new stem installed, got the iMac fixed (the genius touched it and it was healed) and had dinner with Megan. She and I watched the NITE Riders stream up Meridian. Sunday I rode with Stephen and Stephanie up the Monon to Bub’s. Kelli met us and we [...]
I took the day off to do a brick workout with Erin. At 7 o’clock, we set out on bikes to ride around the Plainfield countryside. We made it through with only a few scares from two dogs and a dump truck. Next we headed towards Hummel Park and ran a few laps. My thighs [...]
Editor’s Note: Photos are posted on Facebook. I began Day 2 with a run/walk around Town Lake. This trail is what the Indy Monon and Canal hope to be. I cannot enumerate the people I passed. Simply amazing as it was late morning when most people are working. I also loved the pet areas. Designated [...]
Editor’s Note: The following post is backdated and written in period. I admit I’ve been slacking with my blog posts. I’d like to post every other week, but I guess when I do will have to suffice. I know Mom would like to see daily posts, but my life is not that eventful. Last weekend, [...]

After a potluck lunch with my Hematology friends, I decided the day would be wasted without a run. So I piled on the layers and hit my favorite 5 mile route. The average temperature was only 27 F and I felt it. My first run always wearing gloves and never pushing up my sleeves. Shall [...]

I set in my mind three goals this morning: finish the race, run the entire time, and keep my pace below 12 min/mile. I’m am glad to say I accomplished them all! My pace was 11:16/mile. And my leg doesn’t hurt! I did take a prophylactic dose of ibuprofen and am now icing. The course [...]
I did it! I finished all three of the Eagle Creek Sprint Triathlon Series. I’m not fast, but I did set a personal best this weekend. My results were for June 1:45:21, July 1:48:29, and August 1:42:09. I’m proud to say I’ve accomplished this goal! Now to complete a half-marathon…
Running has started to consume a lot of my time. I’m starting to like it a little. I guess when you spend hours a week on an activity, you mentally and physically acclimate to it. Though I’ve began to neglect my biking and swimming. To reach my goal of finishing the final tri stronger than [...]
After many months of training Lee and Joel competed in their first triathlon at Eagle Creek Park. It was fun to watch. I cannot tell you how proud I was of both of them. They finished and are ready for the remaining 2 this summer. Here are a few pictures. The rest are on my [...]
